Charlie Pride to Award Scholarships to 4 Katrina Victims
Country Music Hall of Fame star Charley Pride is awarding scholarships to four high school seniors that had been affected by Hurricane Katrina. The four seniors attend Gulfport High School in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Each of the four seniors will receive $2500 a year in to the school or university of their choice.
Charley Pride- who is from Sledge, Mississippi- is to play a concert with the Southern Mississippi Symphony Orchestra at the Hattiesburg’s Downtown Saenger Theatre. The scholarships will be awarded to the seniors before the start of the show.
