Stars Raise Record Proceeds to Help Research Cancer

Once again, some of country's biggest stars proved that they care about issues other than country music. This time they used their star power to help the T.J. Martell Foundation, a foundation which researches cancer. Stars such as Brooks & Dunn, Terri Clark, and Martina McBride gathered at the Loews Vanderbilt Hotel to mingle with wine collecters and enjoy a gourmet meal.

All of the proceeds raised at the event went to supporting the foundation. This year, these stars along with, LeAnn Rimes and Bucky Covington, managed to raise $205,000. This total brings the overall total to over 1 million, which is a record setting number. I think it's great that these big names in country are turning out to help with cancer research. Cancer is one thing that doesn't distinguish between fame and money. These stars helping out hopefully will lead to a breakthrough that can cure cancer for everyone, including the everyday working man.
