Why Me Lord
Kris Kristofferson, one of the most prolific songwriters in country music, will be honored in an awards show that will be focused on the contributions that he has made to Texas music and the state's culture. The show is called "The Road to Austin", and it will feature performances by: Bonnie Raitt, Delbert McClinton, Joe Ely, and several acts from Austin's local music scene. Stephen Burton, who is the shows producer, is really excited about the show, and says that Austin has the best to offer when it comes to music. Kris Kristofferson is one of the most underrated artists, and it is satisfying to see that such a celebration is taking place. Kris is best known for his hits, "Help Me Make It Through The Night"(in which Sammi Smith originally recorded), "Sunday Morning Coming Down"(in which Johnny Cash originally recorded), and "Why Me Lord". Underrating artists in country music seems to be a often occurence. Besides Kristofferson, who else do you think needs to be added to this list?
