CMA Music Fest

For the past few days Nashville has been crowded (especially downtown) with country music fans young and old. It is great to see the sidewalks filled downtown with pedestrians walking to and fro in search of good country music entertainment--whether it's a small honky-tonk like Robert's or Tootsie's on Lower Broadway or one of the nightly CMA concert shows at LP Field. I was downtown last Friday night for a concert by renowned Brazilian jazz artist Sergio Mendes at the new Symphony Hall, which is located a block over from the Country Music Hall of Fame. It was a gorgeous night to be out in Nashville--and like I said before, it was invigorating to see such thralls of people walking the streets throughout Downtown Nashville. I really think all the visitors to the CMA Music Fest are having a great time--everyone just seems to be happy and excited about being here.

By the way, LeAnn Rimes is scheduled to perform on September, 20, 2007, at the Nashville Symphony. You must see the new Schermerhorn Symphony Center--it is awesome--and the acoustics are incredible. I am sure LeAnn will sound incredible there.

Speaking of LeAnn Rimes--have you seen her on the cover of the July 2007 Shape magazine?
She obviously has been in the gym lately. I heard her on a radio interview the other day--I really think she has her head on straight. It is hard to believe that she is only 24 years old, because it seems like she has been famous for so long now--but of course, that is because she began her fame at such an early age. I think she was about 14 years old when she had her first big country hit.

Check out this You Tube clip featuring Michael Peterson during the 2007 CMA Music Fest Parade, which kicked off the festival this past Wednesday (June 6th).
