Coveted Book Award
Country Music has always been steeped in rich history. Belmont University, a private university right here is Nashville, is always ready to award those who have literature that portrays the history of Country Music accurately. During the International Country Music Conference, that takes place every year on May 24-26, Belmont bestows this award to someone with the Best Book Award on Country Music . This year the award went to Amanda Wheeler for her book Will the Circle Be Unbroken: Country Music in America which was edited by Paul Kingsbury and Alanna Nash. Kingsbury is no stranger to this honor. He was also the editor of the Country Music Encyclopedia that won the same award a few years back. The award was presented on Friday May 25th. The Country Music Hall of Fame provided all of the photos that are in Will the Circle Be Unbroken, and also funded the project.
