Jimmy C. Newman Spends Half a Century on the Grand Ole Opry

Sometimes in life, the spotlight of one star can overshadow the accomplishments of another star. This seems to have been the case when everyone was celebrating Porter Wagoner's 50th Anniversary on the Grand Ole Opry. Another very talented and well-known artist, just like Porter, Jimmy C. Newman has been singing on the Grand Ole Opry for over half a century. His most famous songs are "Cry, Cry Darlin'" and "A Fallen Star", and he has been a regular on the Opry since 1956. Even we here at Catalog Music slightly overlooked Mr. Newman, which is hard to believe seeing as how he is a pioneer in integrating Cajun music into mainstream country. However, we would also like to offer a big Congratulations to Mr. Newman and wish him continued success.
