Celebrities auctioning off their stuff
Get your pocketbooks ready, it's time for Martina McBride's celebrity auction. This is one of the hugest highlights of the CMA festival. The auction will take place on Saturday June 9th, and is open to the public. Martina has been conducting the auction ever since 1995. Several other country artists are going to show up as well. These artist include: Jason Michael Carroll, Chris Young, host Jay Teeter and many more. The proceeds every year have been donated to the YWCA of Nashville. Some of the items that are on sale are a cowboy hat signed by Toby Keith and football jersey signed by Brooks & Dunn. It's interesting that when a regular person signs an inanimate object it is called graffiti, but when a celebrity signs an inanimate object it becomes worth a lot of money. The auction through the years has raised about $875,000.
